Damien Hirst: Sanctum: Andipa, London
Damien Hirst is indisputably one of the most important and controversial living artists. Whilst studying at Goldsmiths University, Hirst organised the world famous group exhibition ‘Freeze’ in 1988, which has since been credited at the launch of the Young British Artists including successful contemporaries Gary Hume and Sarah Lucas.
Throughout his prolific career, Hirst has explored many different mediums and formats, being most known for the technique of preservation, presenting one of his defining artworks ‘The physical impossibility of Death in the Mind of Someone Living’ 1991, at the Saatchi Gallery.
Two of Hirst’s most popular series are his spot etchings that consist of variably coloured dots, and his butterfly paintings. Titled ‘Sanctum’, these kaleidoscopic butterfly etchings are vibrant, colourful and intricately composed.
Andipa welcomes you to ‘Sanctum’, opening on Thursday 9th November with the private view in the evening 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm. Please contact the gallery to RSVP and for all sales and viewing enquiries. Explore Damien Hirst prints for sale at Andipa Editions.
