    In Green Bora Bora, Hockney explores the challenge of representing water through expressive lines and fluid colour. Using diluted lithographic ink, known as tusche, he creates loose brushstrokes reminiscent of the techniques used by Henri Matisse and Henri de Toulouse-Lautrec. The composition differentiates land and sea through contrasting colours and rhythmic line patterns, capturing the movement of wind and waves across the island landscape.
