This screenprint is the second from an edition of three within Andy Warhol’s Love portfolio. The screenprint was created in 1983, and comes as an edition of 100.

This screenprint depicts an erotic, yet tender, encounter between the two eponymous lovers. This print is the most cartoonish of the series, reducing the lovers’ bodies down to the most basic parts. However, unlike Warhol’s Pop Art contemporary Lichtenstein’s nudes, these naked bodies are inherently realistic, containing an innate sexuality. 

Warhol outlines the bodies in yellow and pink shadows, adding an air of intimacy and affection to the screenprint.
