Andy Warhol Prints, Acquired with Confidence
Discover museum-grade Andy Warhol prints available through Andipa Editions, London.“Don't think about making art, just get it done. Let everyone else decide if it's good or bad, whether they love it or hate it. While they are deciding, make even more art.”
Arguably one of the most important artists of the 20th century, Andy Warhol and his work have become embedded in global cultural history. Instantly recognisable, his pop art style is both celebrated and critiqued for its sharp engagement with consumerism, mass production and celebrity culture. Sexy and seductive, Warhol's original silkscreen prints and artworks stand as the ultimate expression of pop art. Repetition - a central tenet of his printmaking practice - places everyday motifs, logos, faces and personalities centre stage. In doing so, Warhol becomes not only the creator of the image, but its subject as well.
From Campbell's Soup Cans and Endangered Species to Marilyn Monroe, Chanel No. 5 and Chairman Mao, a journey through Warhol's oeuvre is also a journey through the defining icons of the 20th century. Prolific and endlessly influential, his screenprints and original works continue to achieve unprecedented results at auction. The artist's famous quip about "15 minutes of fame" has proven timeless-an enduring, tongue-in-cheek farewell to the art world.
From early experiments with his signature blotted-line ink technique to pioneering silkscreen prints, avant-garde filmmaking and photography, Warhol's artistic output cements his status as a truly multidisciplinary artist who reshaped both the concept and production of modern art.
From his beginnings as a commercial illustrator to his unparalleled artistic success throughout the 1960s and 1970s, and following his untimely death in 1987, Warhol's artworks remain held in major cultural institutions and esteemed private collections worldwide.
