As part of this project, Banksy aimed to unveil a new artwork every day throughout October. Thematically aligned with the film, "Dumbo" portrays a group of Syrian rebels launching a rocket towards the sky, inadvertently capturing Disney’s beloved character, Dumbo, as their unintended target.
Released in 2014, the signed print embodies Banksy’s trademark subversive dark humor. In "Dumbo," we witness unidentified jihadists surrounding the lifeless body of Disney’s iconic Dumbo. Executed in Banksy’s distinctive stencil style, these figures starkly contrast with the colorful, whimsical portrayal of the unfortunate elephant. The artwork poignantly captures the clash of cultures between the Middle East and the West, depicting their intersection through violence and mutual misunderstanding.1of 8
