This portfolio is a larger version of "Pop Shop Quad I," divided into separate works. The title references the artist’s iconic Pop Shop, which Keith Haring opened in SoHo, New York, the previous year. These prints encapsulate Haring’s mature visual language, reflecting the peak of his artistic career.
Despite their simplicity, Haring’s lines effectively convey movement, excitement, and innocence. In the first plate, two figures sit side by side with their arms around each other, a halo hovering above them—a recurring motif in Haring’s work that symbolises innocence and purity.
Pop Shop Quad I highlights Haring’s unique visual style that would see the artist become a mainstay of private collectors, auction houses, galleries and museums worldwide.
