    Yosemite Suite No. 21 depicts a similar scene from the Yosemite National Park as Yosemite Suite No.20, both part of 24 digital drawings created by David Hockney of the Yosemite National Park in his Yosemite Suite series.
    The viewer can discern the recognisable Yosemite National Park features: planes of green across towering hills and panoramic landscapes covered with vegetation, with giant fir trees in the backdrop and a body of water streaming along the base of the composition. Hockney crudely renders his Californian landscape portrait with lines, dots, blotches and digitally applied brushing: with each view we find new perspective.
    Hockney once said ‘we see psychologically,’ and with each viewing of this natural landscape, he requires the viewer to foster new ways of thinking at different moments in time: the planes of deep green colour, shading and abstract effects resemble the landscapes of Cezanne who admitted he painted according to his sensations. In Yosemite Suite No.21 we can feel Hockney’s emotional response to the Yosemite landscapes and his attempt to realise a harmony parallel to nature.
