    David Hockney’s Yosemite Suite No.8 is one of the artist’s compelling portrayals of the power of nature, from his Yosemite Suite series, which captured the visual splendour of the Yosemite National Park.
    Drawn by Ipad for the first time by the artist, it is important to remember the immensity of these digital prints when blown up to a scale of often eight feet tall, which would be impossible to render if enlarged by hand.
    Hockney depicts two trees as the focal point of the print, one is clearly in flourish with thick oak and bushy leaves, whilst the other is sparse and lacking growth on its branches. In the distance, the viewers gaze is drawn to the immense granite cliffs and the overarching bright blue skies.
