    Lichtenstein’s Peace Through Chemistry II, 1970 is a continuation of the tropes and triptych compositional style of Peace Through Chemistry I, and is one of five sequences from his Peace Through Chemistry series. Lichtenstein evolved his creative techniques with new material and processes in this series and also explored his interest in historically rich art movements, including elements of cubism in the prints. 
    Each panel of the triptych is a mini narrative of its own: a linear progression from organic shapes and natural imagery to a mechanical construction. We recognise industrial motifs: cogs of a wheel, an engine, a man holding a test tube. Lichtenstein uses these three sections to juxtapose the free forms of nature with the angular industrial edges of industrialism. Continuing the forms and colours of Peace Through Chemistry I, the artist uses solid blocks of colour, bold contouring, and ben day dots all in vibrant hues. 
    In Peace Through Chemistry II, Lichtenstein openly satires the industrialism of the time he was working and the belief that ‘Peace’ could be found through it - as the print title suggests.
