    In Choose Your Weapon, Banksy depicts a hooded youth standing beside a stylised barking dog directly inspired by Keith Haring’s iconic canine figures. The young figure appears withdrawn and anonymous, recalling media anxieties surrounding hooded teenagers during the late 2000s and echoing political debates such as former Prime Minister David Cameron’s “Hug a Hoodie” campaign. Rather than representing companionship, the dog becomes a symbolic weapon, suggesting aggression, resistance, and social alienation. Banksy subverts the traditional image of “man’s best friend” by transforming the animal into an extension of urban frustration and rebellion.
