    David Hockney’s Yosemite Suite 2 is the second in a series of 24 drawings turned Ipad ‘paintings’ turned digital prints from The Yosemite Suite series.
    The landscape depiction recalls some of his famous earlier works: yet in Yosemite Suite No.2 he seamlessly fuses art and innovation by creating a grand scale landscape scene through digital rendering.
    The visual splendour of the Yosemite National Park is reflected in Hockney’s bold portrayal of the steep mountains and granite cliffs at the hinterland of the picture, seen through the row of tall, leafy green trees in front. A simple colour palette of verdant green, bright yellow and a mix of blue shades keep the viewer’s gaze centred on the voluminous nature of the Yosemite landscape.
    It is important to remember that as Ipad drawings Hockney often scaled these images up to 8 feet in real life to dramatically immerse the viewer in the majesty of Yosemite: and as a nature enthusiast Hockney uses these digital drawings to raise awareness of the importance of landscape conservation for future generations.
