Self‑Portrait in My Living Room is a 2021 Ink-jet drawings on archival paper by David Hockney. It depicts a reflective digital self-portrait created during a period when the artist turned increasingly to technology as a means of documenting daily life and maintaining creative momentum. The composition depicts Hockney seated in his living room, holding what appears to be either a paintbrush or a cigarette in his right hand. Behind him, the interior of the room is suggested through loose, sketch-like forms rendered in muted washes of browns and creams, creating an atmosphere of quiet introspection and domestic familiarity.
Produced in the aftermath of the global upheaval caused by the COVID‑19 pandemic, the work reflects how Hockney embraced drawing as a daily practice and a form of resilience during a time of isolation.
