    Peace Through Chemistry III is the third print in Lichtenstein’s Peace Through Chemistry series, in which he unusually works with a one black colour print run to create a monochrome artwork. The screenprint is a lithograph on special arjomari paper, one of an edition of 16. 
    In keeping with the rest of the series, Peace Through Chemistry III is organised in three panels demarcated through bold outlines and flat areas of black and white, in triptych form. This print is denser in tone and texture than the rest of the series: the monochrome composition of geometric shapes, bold objects and motifs, and large swathes of ben day dots add a sense of depth to the picture.
    Lichtenstein continues his exploration of humanity versus industrialism in Peace Through Chemistry III: he uses elementary motifs such as a leafy branch to represent nature on the left, through to cogs in a factory wheel and finally a profile of a man holding a test tube to show a progression from nature to industry to science.
